The Science and Technology Studies (STS) reading group is a reading group organized by members of the “Eating Bodies” team.
We read diverse texts within the field of STS, but with a focus on ANT and material semiotics.
Authors whose work we have recently read include: Donna Haraway, Londa Schiebinger, Bruno Latour, Sarah Whatmore, Timothy Choy, Isabelle Stengers, Vinciane Despret, Teun Zuiderent-Jerak, Stefan Helmreich, Des Fitzgerald, Felicity Callard, Annemarie Mol, Marisol de la Cadena, Astrid Schrader, Marilyn Strathern, Eduardo Viveiros de Castro, Chunglin Kwa and John Law.
Next meeting we will read “On the Subject of the Object: Narrative, Technology, and Interpellation” by John Law and
Janelle Taylor’s “The Demise of the Bumbler and the Crock: From Experience to Accountability in Medical Education and Ethnography”. The last text is related to the event that will take place in the afternoon, the Walking Seminar (event page can be found under events).
