The library brings together recent publications from network members whose work crosses disciplinary boundaries to examine eating as a practice entangled with metabolism, sensory science, and bodily transformations. These texts attend to the ordering of taste in restaurants, the staging of laboratory experiments in sensory science, and the ways bodies are measured, managed, and remade through technologies of weight, exercise, and surgery. Water, waste, and the fluid exchanges between human and nonhuman bodies recur as themes, as do questions of what it means to value care amid extractivist pressures. The collection serves as a growing resource for those studying how eating shapes and is shaped by social, material, and ecological relations.
